about

Roger Weir has spent over fifty years patiently blossoming open education works which guide students to learn how to learn and to find their own artistry. In the late 60s, Roger was the prize graduate student, both learning and teaching, in the rare interdisciplinary program of San Francisco State College, as well as an active participant in that eras movement for social change.

Amidst rioting in 1969, San Francisco State was shut down. But a group of professors wanted to send the salient message that learning must continue no matter what state of social and political upheaval might occur, and Roger was selected to be the singular graduate of SF State that year.

It is from these seminal days as educator, poet and civil activist that much of his life work evolved. San Francisco Sixties Poetic is a personal artistic expression of the tumultuous and deep searching spirit of the late 60s.
